Anyone who’s met me knows my favourite season is autumn. My favourite type of day is one that’s a bit cold and crisp but still sunny. One where I can go for a walk in my toque and wooly scarf and witness the trees surrender their colourful leaves to the ground. One where I see geese overhead in their classic ‘V’ formation, heading for the balmy southern climates. Those are my absolute favourite days, and they’re also a thing I miss most about Canadian autumns.
However, the thing I miss the most about Canada in autumn is the sheer amount of pumpkin-flavoured drinks, dishes, baked goods, and paraphernalia that erupt on the first of September and don’t disappear until gingerbread makes its debut. Have I mentioned how much I miss sipping pumpkin spice lattes while choosing the perfect pumpkin to carve?
I’m well aware that I’m not the only one who enjoys feasting on large amounts of pumpkin during autumn. In fact, many of my favourite food bloggers routinely post new pumpkin-based recipes every fall. And I’m no stranger to trying as many of these recipes as I can get my hands on. I’m addicted. To me, autumn = pumpkin. So to get you all in my pumpkin-flavoured frame of mind, I’ve created this round up of some of my favourite pumpkin recipes from all over the food blogosphere! Enjoy!
